Meeting Schedule for 2010:

The Annual Meeting will be January 25, 2010 6:30 pm at the Jewish Community Center

All Homeowners are encouraged to attend the  Annual Meeting and any Board Meetings.

Board Meeting, Saturday February 27 at 12:00 at  1865 Cat Tail Row

All Board Meetings for the remainder of 2010 will be held at the St. Andrews Library:

    April 24 - 12:00

    June 26 - 12:00

    August 28 - 12:00

    October 30 - 12:00

    December 18 - 12:00

The next Annual Meeting for all Homeowners will be held on January 24, 2011 at 6:30.  The location will be determined at a later date.

Why do I have to pay Association Dues?
All Rice Hollow owners are required to pay Association Dues by the governing documents of our Association. The fees are annually and are used to fund services to benefit everyone and to maintain, enhance and preserve the value of Rice Hollow.

What do the Association Dues cover?
Association Dues are important for the maintenance of our common area, entranceway, lighting and repair. It also protects homeowners by providing liability insurance on our common property and provides improvements desired by the Association, and services to the owners.

How do I pay the Association Fees?
Owners have the responsibility to make sure they are receiving their statements from The Rice Hollow Home Owners Assocation.. Owners can pay by check or money order. All checks and money orders must have the property address and owners name on it.  Payments should be sent to:

What does our Association do?
Rice Hollow Home Owners Association is a non-profit corporation managed by a Board of Directors elected by the owners. Board members are volunteers who work hard to preserve the value of their properties and the properties of their neighbors. The Board is responsible for the management of the Association's funds, enforcement of deed restrictions and the maintenance of the common area in our neighborhood.

What are the Governing Documents?
The Governing Documents for Rice Hollow are the Articles of Incorporation, By-Laws, Covenants and Restrictions plus any Rules and Regulations, Resolutions or guidelines that have been established by Rice Hollow's Homeowners Association.

Where can I get a copy of the Governing Documents?
When you closed on your home you should have received a copy from your attorney.  Rice Hollow's Governing Documents are recorded instruments so they are also available through the County of Charleston.

What is a deed restriction?
It is a part of the Covenants and Restrictions that you agreed to when you bought your home. Through this document, you agreed to certain standards of maintenance, upkeep and behavior in order to make our community as attractive and peaceful as possible for yourself and your neighbors, and to enhance and preserve your property values.

Why do I have to get the Association's permission for home improvements?
The Board of Directors work hard to ensure that your intended improvements meet your community's standards as set forth in the Governing Documents and avoids problems that arise from the construction of improvements and the use of colors or styles that conflict with others in your neighborhood.

What is the common area in Rice Hollow?
It is the land for the use and enjoyment of the members of the Association.

What is a resale certificate?
The resale certificate is a disclosure by the Association of the amount of the assessment and whether the Association may foreclose to collect the assessment. It further notifies the buyer whether the seller of the property has (or has not) paid all assessments that are due and whether there are any violations affecting the real property being sold.

What does the Association's insurance cover?
The Association's insurance includes property and casualty policies for all common area property. It also includes Liability and Directors & Officers policies that cover Directors, Committee Members and volunteers working on behalf of the Association.

Are there any pet restrictions?
Rice Hollow loves pets.  We simply ask that you use a leash, keep your pets from roaming free and clean up after them.
